DEATH AND INHERITANCE

  • Barzakh - life in the Grave
Barzakh is the stage between the worldly life and Qiyaamah. A person enters into this temporary stage from the time the soul leaves the body, to the time of resurrection. Allah says: “ (In falsehood they will be) until, when death comes to one of them he says “oh my Lord send me back (to life), in order that I may work righteousness in the things I neglected” by no means! • On the Passing Away of a Dear One
'Ultimately, everything belongs to Allah. Even when a child is in the lap of its mother, this child is Allah's property. And when Allah takes away the child from its parents, then also (remember that) it is His property. In Allah's plan, everything has a time-limit and this is unchangeable. So, it is best to practice Sabr and hope for Allah's reward.'

  • The Soul's Journey After Death
What is death? Is it total annihilation? Or is it simply the severing of the soul from the body? When the soul is separated from the body, what happens to each of them? What happens to man himself, the owner of this transient body and eternal soul? Does his consciousness come to an end when his body dies? Or does his awareness continue to live on in his eternal soul? Do the dead feel enjoyment and pain the way the living do? Can the awareness of a living man whose soul is locked in his body compare with the awareness of a dead man whose soul has been released from his body'?

  • Remembering Death
There is no escape from death and it is certain to come, so, by us constantly thinking of death, it will easily enable us to prepare for death and the life of the hereafter and refrain from all worldly pleasures and luxuries.

  • Orders for Deceased (From Dying to burial)

  • Sickness - a Mercy from Allah
Sickness and other difficulties that we undergo in this worldly life should not only be seen as a misfortune or as an expression of the displeasure of Allah Ta'ala. For those servants of Allah who enjoy a very special relationship with Him, it is a means of great blessing and a mercy. Is there anyone in this world who is free from sins and mistakes? If every soul were to be fully recompensed for its every action, then apart from the sinless Prophets of Allah, the Ambiyaa (Alaihimus salaam), nobody else would be worthy of entering into Jannah. Man commits minor and major sins all the time, but the difficulties and hardships that he undergoes in this world like illness, grief and sorrow, etc. become the atonement for his sins and in this way he is cleansed of his sins in this very world.
