Laylatul Baraa-ah
`Indeed Allaah Ta-aalaa descends to the nether sky on the middle night of Sha-baan. Then
He certainly forgives more persons than the count of fibres upon a sheep of the
Kalb tribe'. |

To Muslim
Ladies
Without a woman, no man can accomplish his natural
journey in a pleasant and comfortable manner, and, in the same way, no virtuous
woman can lead a happy and contented life without a life-partner. The Lord
Creator has made them dependent on each other in such a way that without one,
the life of the other must remain incomplete. |
Place of
Knowledge and Responsibilities of those Who Acquire It
- Shaykh Abul
Hasan
The so-called powerful and advanced
countries of the present-day world are confronted with an
identical situation. The boat of humanity is in grave
peril, the tides are moving menacingly towards it, and the
shore is far away. |
From
the Depth of the Heart ... in America
- by Shaykh Abul Hasan Ali Nadwi (Marhmoom)
It makes me very happy to be with you here in Washington,
the capital city of the United States of America, which may be
described as the hub of the world. Today its influence is felt
everywhere, and in all spheres of life, social, political and
economic. We may like it or not, but no one can deny it. |
Virtues of
Shahaadah in the Path of Allah
"The life of the Ummah is connected to the ink of the
scholars and the blood of the martyrs. What is more beautiful
than to write the history of the Ummah with both the ink of
the scholar and his blood, such that the map of Islamic
history becomes coloured with two lines: one of them black,
and that is what the scholar writes with the ink of his pen;
and the second red, and that is what the martyr writes with
his blood. And more beautiful than this is when the blood is
one and the pen is one, so that the hand of the scholar, which
expends the ink and moves the pen, is the same hand that
expends his blood and moves the nations. The extent to which
the number of martyred scholars increases, is the extent to
which nations are delivered from their slumber, rescued from
their decline and awoken from their sleep..." Shaheed Shaykh
Abdullah Azzam |

Female
Leadership in Islam
Female leadership is a question not unknown
to the Muslim world. Although Muslim scholars have in the
past discussed this topic, it first gained prominence in
the twentieth century with the wake of the women's liberty
movement. In recent years the question was further
highlighted with the success of Benazir Bhutto in the 1989
elections in Pakistan and Khalida Zia in the 1991 election
in Bangladesh. |

Islamic Slaughter
In
conclusion the Islamic procedure of Zabah collaborates
with its literal meaning of Zabah purification.
Purification in consumption is paramount importance for
good health. I conclude by quoting the saying of our
prophet Purification is half of faith.

The
right to benefit from natural resources such as water,
rangelands, woodlands and wildlife is, in Islam, a right
held in common by all members of society. Such benefits
may be direct or, by way of harvesting or extracting the
resource, or they may be indirect, by way of access to
its products.
